Trade Assistant/Service Technician(Full-Time)

As a Trades Assistant, your primary focus in this role will be to ensure our range of fleet vehicles are serviced and maintained in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner. Additionally, you will provide support to the Service Manager and Mechanics as required. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Servicing vehicles in line with manufacturers’ specifications and company standards, including carrying out minor repairs and preventative maintenance checks on fleet vehicles (e.g. replacing fluids, changing oil/air filter, tyres, brakes, ski racks etc.) including cars, trucks and company fleet

• Monitor inventory and request order of new parts when necessary with Service Administrator Assemble mechanical components according to specifications

• Perform diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems

• Complete Repair Orders

• Providing breakdown assistance when necessary

• Preparing vehicles for hand back and sales.

• Testing and general servicing of workshop equipment for safety.

• Keeping accurate and on-time job records and recording servicing history in applicable systems

• Attend company/manufacturer training as necessary

• Working efficiently and effectively in a team environment to maintain a culture of service excellence and accomplishing organisational goals under limited supervision

• Driving vehicles as required.

• Other reasonable duties as requested by the Service Manage

Skills & Experience 

• Previous experience working in workshops is desired, but a great work ethic and a passion for cars is is just as good!

• Full drivers’ license

• Full & Unrestricted Working Rights (Ability to Work 38hrs per week) => We do not offer Sponsorships for this role

• Experience with both petrol and diesel motors 

• A customer-focused, collaborative, and adaptable approach to work each day. 

• Ability to manage multiple tasks across multiple sites with a high level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. 

• Good communications skills (written and verbal) with knowledge of MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook 

• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety legislation relevant to the role.
