Job description
As an Airport Manager, you will lead all aspects of operations at an airport location—ensuring a safe, efficient, and profitable business while delivering a consistently positive experience for both customers and employees.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance operational excellence, people leadership, and financial performance in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
What You’ll Do:
You will oversee all airport operations related to customer service, vehicle rentals, and fleet readiness. This includes managing customer transactions at the rental counter, driving the sale of incremental products and services, and ensuring vehicles are cleaned, prepared, and available for the next rental.
You will plan, manage, and implement staffing schedules based on business demand and transaction volume, while overseeing both exempt and non-exempt employees. You will lead and support teams responsible for customer shuttling between terminals and vehicle areas, ensuring timely, safe, and customer-friendly transportation.
You will handle customer concerns and escalations, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and effectively to protect customer satisfaction and brand reputation. You will also analyze operational and financial data, including transaction volumes, revenue performance, and expense trends, to inform decisions and improve results.
Additional responsibilities include assisting with annual budget preparation, monitoring fuel pricing and cost controls, implementing HR policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with company standards and operational guidelines.
Perks You’ll Get:
Starting salary: $70,000 annually
Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance
Access to additional voluntary benefits, including group auto and home insurance, pet insurance, legal assistance, identity theft protection, FSA, accident and critical illness coverage, and supplemental life insurance
Flexible spending benefit of up to $270 for public transportation or parking expenses
401(k) retirement plan with company-matched contributions
Comprehensive training to learn the business and enhance leadership and operational skills
Employee discounts, including discounted prices on the purchase of Avis/Budget vehicles
Employee Assistance Program offering counseling, financial and legal consultation, and care referrals
Community involvement opportunities
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent required
At least 1 year of leadership or management experience
Experience in car or truck rental preferred; background in operations, customer service, training, or human resources strongly valued
Working knowledge of profit and loss (P&L) management
Strong decision-making skills with the ability to operate independently within established guidelines
Strong analytical and math skills, with the ability to interpret reports and operational data
Proven ability to lead, coach, and manage large teams effectively
Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to articulate company vision and provide clear operational direction to employees, contractors, and vendors
Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail
Excellent time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced, changing environment
