Job Summary:

Avis Budget Group is implementing a data-driven approach to business insight, reporting and decision making. We are moving our reporting and analytics provision from a base across Excel, QlikView, Hyperion and Cognos, to a self-updating automated suite of reports in a new Tableau Server; establishing a single source of truth, aligned across the business globally.  Alongside this, we’re providing Tableau as a platform through which business users can self-serve data and analytics, and supporting training and upskilling in Tableau and Alteryx.

As part of the data transformation journey, we’re hiring a Senior Manager of BI Enablement and Self-Serve Analytics.  They will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the BI community at Avis Budget Group.  They will establish a cross-functional, cross-regional network of in-business Tableau users to foster engagement and share current projects and requirements, as well as best practice, tips and tricks.  They will also head a new team that facilitates self-serve for the business; training in BI tools and curating and provisioning of datasets.  They will work with the IT Data Enablement team to ensure the datasets, permissions and tools are in place so that business users can intuitively and quickly self-serve data and analytics to meet their ad-hoc and BAU requirements.

The enablement team will monitor Tableau licensing availability and distribution to ensure we have adequate supply and that the levels of access provided are appropriate and fully utilized.

This role will have a global remit; core to our mission is ensuring an aligned and consistent level of BI engagement across the entire business.  As such, there will be a core focus on meeting requirements for all regions and functions, with BI Analysts from the team being present in/responsible for each of APAC, NAM and EMEA.  The role will encompass the following main areas:

Managing the BI Analysts in the International FP&A team in their mission to centralise, automate and streamline reporting and analytics; Creating a BI Enablement team to help upskill the business with Tableau training and support; Working closely with IT and the Data Enablement organisation to establish requirement pipelines of data, creating a suite of cross-functional, self-serve datasets for the business users to consume; Development of the fledgling BI Community at ABG, hosting the weekly BI Forum calls to help build engagement, understanding, share obstacles and limitations, as well as current and future projects; Working with the business to embed a data-first mindset and strong data culture, demonstrating the significant benefits when it comes to measuring and improving results.

Your outstanding communication skills will help you to effectively convey complex concepts, and you will be confident in both supporting and challenging (where appropriate) your internal customers and external suppliers.

Experience needed:

• 3+ years’ experience leading a (BI) team
• Experience providing/organising BI training
• Experience with the deployment of self-serve analytics across a business
• In-depth experience of connecting business users, large data sources and Tableau (Desktop and Server) environments
• Experience investigating and manipulating large datasets
• Experience using SQL
• Strong organisation and prioritisation
• Excellent stakeholder management
• Ability to see through complex datasets to identify and communicate underlying issues and opportunities
