What you’ll do:
- Lead and manage a team of data platform professionals dedicated to ensuring the smooth operation of our entire cloud data estate
- Maintenance of Infrastructure and data in Data lake and data warehousing environment.
- Performing regular tasks such as user management and audit, patching, upgrades, resource utilization, alerts monitoring and triage issues.
- Provide technical leadership and responsible for team building by quick assimilation of knowledge about new systems being rolled out, documenting and sharing the same with team members, assist them as the need arises.
- Identify scope for improvement in current monitoring, observability, and alerting stacks and make corrective actions.
- Identify and drive efforts to automate L1 support tasks.
- Deliver a powerful performance and stability monitoring system
- Timely Communication with all global partners about any issues arising from systems, articulating remediation steps and timelines
- Drive performance improvement efforts
- Stability-first philosophy in all activities
- Directly responsible for all SLAs for all data issues resolutions#
- Directly responsible for Sox, GDRP, PII and Infosec compliance enforcement
You should apply if you bring:
- Overall 6+ years’ experience in IT industry including 2+ years’ experience with AWS or GCP ecosystem.
- Experience with Infra as a code stack used in AWS. Terraform/CloudFormation/Ansible.
- Very good understanding of Cloud databases and technologies including AWS RDS and Redshift. Good knowledge of relational database concepts and SQL skills needed.
- Experience owning production systems.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools.
- Operating Systems: 1+ years of experience in Linux/Unix environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication within team, key leaders, and other groups.
- Ability to drive an issue resolution call involving multiple support teams.
- Client-facing role experience.
- AWS associate level certifications
- Distributed system architecture awareness.
- Knowledge on Kafka ecosystem.
- Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, and Airflow admin/support
- Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services with knowledge on trouble shooting. (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP, netstat, openssl).
- Experience with scripting languages: Python/Shell.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and scripted pipelines with focus on Jenkins.
